Getting your license
To become an amateur radio operator (ham), you need to get your license. To get your license, you’ll need to take a test. The first test you’ll take is the Technician exam.
Studying for the exam
You can study for the technician exam using KB6NU’s study guides. You can download the PDF of the No-Nonsense Technician-Class License Study Guide for free, and the rest are available on Amazon.com for a very reasonable cost.
ARRL also has a good Technician License resource page.
Practice Tests
There are a couple of options for taking practice tests:
- You can take practice tests using Ham Test Online
- For iPhone (not sure about Android): http://www.patrickjmaloneyllc.com.
- Another great online testing resource is Hamstudy
